John H. Roberts, 89, of Nelson passed away Sunday at Crouse Community Center in Morrisville. John was born in Nelson on December 9, 1926, a son to the late Henry and Beatrice Roberts. He worked at Easy Washer for 10 years before starting his own trucking business that he operated for 35 years until his retirement. John was a 32nd degree mason with the Cazenovia Masonic Lodge #616, F&AM. He was a member for over 50 years on the Monday Night Bowling League at Caz Sport Bowl, which is the oldest organized league in the country.
John was predeceased by his wife, Noreen Roberts, who died June 23, 1995.
He is survived by many nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours. Graveside and Masonic services will be held 10 a.m., Thursday, June 23, 2016 at Union Cemetery, Welsh Church Road, Nelson.
