Dear John, Peter, and Egan family,
Please accept our sincere condolences. Paul was a childhood friend, living up the street from us in Baldwinsville. Our parents were good friends and part of our St. Mary’s church family. Paul was always the fun person in the group. Fond memories of all of our younger years so long ago. You are in our prayers.
Sincerely,
Chris (Schiro) Kimak

This i[ funeral URL] Is a pleasant rendition of what Paul's physical life was- I spent all my career, at the power company, very integrated with most all of Paul's activity... On, then off the job at times., None of it too slow.... . We all probably envision Paul having a set of roller skates as he applied himself daily, to a very rigorous and thoughtful (professional)- would you call it a flight pattern!?
Yet, as we all suspected;
We , all, can better realize that He, being who he was, was a trusted source of being for us all; always planting good seed as he went, leaving each of us, then, with a genuine system for caring. Even as he was busier than we all imagined, in that cloud o' knowledge of his,there was always an Always Caring [ Heart]; and somehow, in some particular way of his, He always came back albeit , in some instant o time, to revisit and let each one know, that he was there , for you.
The pandemic, then gave us the-light, to see this quality of Paul's, in that his isolation from us, during his treatment these last months broadened our nature to see this...
How very good it he passed our way,
Peter

I knew Paul for nearly 40 years. I first met him as a new hire of a Niagara Mohawk department called Power Control. There were many talented people in that group, but I think all would agree Paul was among the best. Of his many duties, Paul took it upon himself to become the electrical and HVAC expert for the critical NiMo building we worked at. This meant 24x7 coverage 365 days a year. There was a running joke that if there was a problem at work the Bat signal would be flashed in the sky and Paul would be summoned to resolve it. I found myself working many long hours at night alongside Paul and, because of my youth, acquired the nickname of Batboy to his Batman. His obituary mentioned his work ethic, and it was legendary. He was always available to lend a hand. I remember him calling in from a motorcycle trip he was taking out west when he received a text that there was some issue. He was just ALWAYS there for you, and his talent was unmatched. He was also there for me outside of work. I remember as a new homeowner trying to close my pool for the first time, and instantly Paul and Jo Ann stopped by with their shop vac they affectionately nicknamed "Red Fred" to give me a hand to blow out the lines. Even after retirement, a group of us would meet for lunch periodically to catch up and talk of old times. It was an honor to call Paul my friend and I will miss him immensely. As I write this, there is a thunderstorm raging outside, and I'd like to think that Paul is up there somewhere lending a hand with any "building" issues heaven might be having.
