Obituary of Kayla W. Dorrance

Kayla Whitney Dorrance, 28, of Bouckville, passed away Friday, September 1, 2023 with her loving family by her side. Kayla was born January 16, 1995 in Oneida to Thomas and Tina Dorrance. She was a graduate of Cazenovia High School in 2013 where she was a member of the lacrosse and soccer teams. She attended S.U.N.Y. Morrisville and had an artistic eye for construction work, especially carpentry. She was proficient in plumbing, electrical, roofing and was currently employed at R & R General Contracting in Bouckville. In her free time, Kayla enjoyed cooking for her roommates, going for rides up on the hill with Trey, woodworking and tiling. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her father, Thomas (Mia) Dorrance; her mother, Tina Dorrance, Shelly Reed; her brother, Chad (Shannon) Dorrance; her step siblings, Casey Hourigan, Zak Hourigan and Zantha (Jeremy) Maxwell; her grandmother, Jacquelyn Richards; her boyfriend, Trey Stagaman; her best friend, Corey Lyrek; several aunts, uncles, cousins and by her dog, Callie Mae. A Celebration of Kayla’s Life will be held at 12 p.m., Sunday, September 10, 2023 at Lakeside Park in Cazenovia. Private burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Cazenovia.
