He was the best - I will always remember on the microphone somewhere in the building singing Mona Lisa to me - or when he pretended to be the plumber when he didn't want to talk to a salesman - will miss seeing him in front of the fireplace at the Brae Loch when my daughter and I visit

Doris, Jim, Val and Family, I was saddened to hear of Grey's passing. I have many fond memories of him and my time at the Brae Loch, and Grey's mantra when he was fixing things "always look at the brutally obvious first, is it plugged in?" always stuck with me as a great problem solving tool- the best tool out of his belt he could give me. Please know that Grey and all of you have been in my thoughts and prayers.

We are very sad to hear of Grey's passing. My prayers go to the family and his many friends. While doing work for Tim, Grey would stop by and always have a smile and a hardy handshake. He will be missed. Bless you all.

Dear Doris,Tim, Sandy, Bobbie, Susie, Laurie and Jim I am so sorry to hear of Grey's death. Working at Brae Loch was the most enjoyable job I ever had, and that was because of the way Grey ran the business. My thoughts are with all of you.

I was s saddened to hear of Uncle Grey's passing. I am honored to have known him. He was my first boss. The father of a great friend Sandra and the Uncle of my best friend Shannon Jamie. We would sometimes be a bi silly while working at the Brae Loch and would get a little scolding from "Uncle Grey" with a twinkle in his eye. I'll never forget that twinkle. And it was so nice,in recent years, to have Doris and him stop in to visit us at Simply Gourmet when they visited Lake Placid. My husband Mickey and I send our love and sympathy to all of you.

Mickey and I were very saddend to hear of the passing of Grey by your long time employee Sharon. Grey was a big insperation to me as a young man in the 60s and 70s when we started out in the restaurant business in Chittenango. Mickey and I are always welcomed very warmly by the Barr familey when ever we visit The Brae Loch or see them in Cazenovia.

I feel so sad about the passing of Uncle Grey. To me it's like the end of an era. There are so many memories I have of Uncle Grey - the many time we were together on the lake, the fun weeks we spent in the winter at the Kon Tiki and of course, having him as a "boss" when I waitressed at Brae Loch. One thing that stands out in my mind is seeing Uncle Grey and Uncle Pete at the funeral home and church when my father died. He was always there for the family. He was such a handsome, friendly, loving man who was talented beyond belief - hosting Robert Burns nights at Brae Loch dressed in his kilts (so handsome), listening to the stories of how he and Uncle Pete dug out the basement of Brae Loch shovel by shovel full to create the downstairs bar and casual dining room. It was like he could do anything with tools for construction and had amazing taste as well. He will be missed by many. Sending love and condolences to all of you as you struggle with your loss. I pray you will rejoice in the fact that he is now dancing a jig in heaven with Grandma Brown, Scotty, Edith and Jim and Aunt Betty and Uncle Pete and the many other Barr's who have left us. May peace be with all of you.

I am proud to have known Grey. He was a great publican, a true gentleman and a great friend to my family. "Proud Scotland's sons, o' hill and glen, Ha'e round the world frae en' tae en' Wi' doughty deeds o' tongue and pen, Coal, steam, and steel - O! what has made those mighty men, But Scotland's meal?"
