Obituary of Russell M. DeKing, III

Russell M. DeKing, III, 55, of Morrisville, passed away at home on Wednesday, November 22, 2023. He was born January 6, 1968 in Oneida to Russell M. DeKing, Jr. and Jennie Snyder DeKing. Russell was a graduate of Cazenovia High School in 1988 and was currently employed at Briggs & Stratton in Munnsville. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, his vegetable garden, raising chickens and a turkey. Russell also liked to watch wrestling, football and NASCAR but his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his three daughters, Jessica Marie (Steven) Thomson of Westmoreland, Christina (Dustin Pennay) DeKing of Windsor and Amber Rose DeKing of Morrisville; his siblings, Marvin DeKing of Cazenovia, Diane (Harold) Baker of Utah, Nancy (Paul Gloska) Tanner of Chittenango, Rickey (Sandra) DeKing of Cazenovia, Frank (Joanne) DeKing of Kirkville, Gilbert (Jill) DeKing of Cazenovia and Marion (Walt) Stokes of Morrisville; his girlfriend, Tina Colvin of Morrisville; eight grandchildren, Derrick, David, Madison, Sophia, Grace, Caiden, Kylo and Scarlett as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Russell was predeceased by his wife, Candace “Candie” Elizabeth DeKing; his brother, Terry Lynn DeKing: his sisters, Joann Daley and Lelah Phillips. Calling hours will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at Michael E. Brown Funeral Services, 2333 Fenner Road in Cazenovia. Burial will be in Peterboro Cemetery.
