Ed was a wonderfully peaceful and empathetic friend. He and I met at crisis center in 1988, where we both worked. He was bright, and humble with his hilarious self deprecating wit.
He was a talented tennis player and had an insatiable quest for Dunkin coffee. He attended my wedding and we met several times in Medford where he lived. He respected his parents immensely (whom I met on two occasions), and spoke lovingly of his siblings. The world needs a lot more gentle souls like Ed, whom I indeed miss and hope to see again someday.

Ed and I started working at Hearth, Inc nine plus years ago around the same time. For the last three years, I ran into him every weekday evening and Sundays as he cared for the seniors at the residence. I am going to miss those times. It feels so strange not to see Ed sitting in the office, out the common area or the kitchen preparing a meal for the residents.

To my dear friends the Taits: I am deeply grieved for your loss. My prayer is that the peace of God will sustain you until the joy of the Lord overshadows you. As you reflect on the gift of love and joy Ed brought into your life remember that "James 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning." Please accept our apologies for not attending the celebration of Ed's life. I have to officiate two funerals Saturday myself. May the presence of the Almighty comfort you all in this grievous time.

Please know that my thoughts and prayers go out to Judge Tait, Anne, Brian and Tom as I am so sorry to hear about the death of Eddie. It had been far too many years since last seeing him, but I have always had such fond memories of our years together at CBA. Eddie not only had so much energy and was very much a gentleman, but was a true friend to anyone who knew him. While we are mourning the loss of Eddie I know that his mother must be happy to have him in Heaven.

I read of Eddie's passing this morning with great sadness. He was so young. I was Eddie's second grade teacher. He was a sweet child... a real delight in the classroom. It did not surprise me that his chosen path in life was to help others. The saddness of his untimely passing will be felt by many. Please convey Leighton's and my deepest sympathy to all the family.

Ed was a warm, intelligent and caring person who touched many people with great kindness and compassion. When I transferred to St. John Fisher, Ed extended himself fully to ensure I felt welcome and accepted, and Anne was nearby at Nazareth. Those were great and fun times. He touched many hearts with his personal warmth. We deeply regret this terrible loss. The Coughlin Family of Dewitt Rick, Mary, Elizabeth, James and Katherine
