Obituary of Charles Yorton

Charles A. Yorton, 92, of Cazenovia, died Saturday at St. Joseph's Hospital. Charles was a retired dairy farmer and a horseman. He was a life-long supporter of the Cazenovia High School football team receiving a Cazenovia Central School letter and the "Most Valuable Fan" award in 1994, after 47 seasons of "tireless support". He was also a member of the Cazenovia Pony Club, a participant in Lorenzo Driving Competition and a member of the Dairymen's League. He is predeceased by his brother Daniel, Jr.; Surviving are his wife Jean, his children, Carolyn (Peter) Crosby of Anchorage, AK, Stephen (Janice) Yorton of Carthage, Gayle (Mark) Sloan of Myrtle Beach, SC; his brother David of Sarasota, FL; his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Barrett, Jennifer, Allison and David; his great grandchildren, Jillian, Claire and Oliver.
Funeral services will be held 10am Saturday at Tait Funeral Home, Inc., 2333 Fenner Road in Cazenovia.
Calling hours will be held Friday from 4-7pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to CAVAC or Cazenovia United Methodist Church.
