Obituary of Wilbur Lamb

Wilbur Reynolds Lamb, 92, of Cazenovia, died Sunday, October 26th at Crouse Hospital.
Born on the Lamb Farm in New Woodstock, NY, to Fordyce and Mildred (Hayes) Lamb, he had been a resident of Cazenovia for the past 53 years. Wilbur served in the NAVY during WW II.
Wilbur graduated from New Woodstock High School, Syracuse University, and the University of Illinois. He was a social studies teacher and principal of Cazenovia Central High School. He retired as Director of Admissions at SUNY Morrisville. Wilbur was an active member of the Cazenovia Village Baptist Church for many years where he was a Deacon. He was a member of the American Legion Post #1026, and of the Cazenovia Lodge No. 616 of Free and Accepted Masons.
Wilbur is predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Janet Wood Lamb, brother Fred (Lucille) Lamb of Chicago, and siblings Donald and Martha who died in childhood. Surviving are his children Kristen S. (Jack) Ayer, Milford, CT; James W. (Renee, deceased) Lamb, Cazenovia; Nancy L. (Gary) Hallock of Delmar, NY; his brother Fordyce W. (Fran) Lamb of Cazenovia; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Friends are invited to call Friday, October 31th from 4-6 pm at Tait Funeral Home, 2333 Fenner Rd, Cazenovia. A celebration of Wilbur's life will be held Saturday, November 1 at 11:00am at the Federated Church of New Woodstock; a luncheon will follow in the church hall. Burial will be held in New Woodstock Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CAVAC or The New Woodstock Historical Society
