I wish there was just one story I could tell but way too many comes to mind, I would love to say what a sweet, kind and excepting person Uncle Dan was. The only time I ever seen him upset is when someone or something hurt his shirley or any one of his kids (human and animal). The love the man gave to us is unbellieveable we all knew he loved us. Aunt Shirley and Uncle Dan stood up for Steve and I at our wedding and when we had our wedding blessed 4 yrs later and the advise they gave us the first time was the same 4 yrs later, that was please don't go to bed mad at each other it will just get bigger when you wake up, we never have and that was the kind of advice they use to leave us with. with this thought in mind I will leave you with just one more piece of advice they use to share. BE KIND TO ONE ANOTHER EVEN IF YOU ARE NOT BLOOD BECAUSE AS LONG AS WE HAVE LOVE WE HAVE FAMILY.

Uncle Danny taught me all about Toulouse Lautrec. His deep voice had a kind of authority to it. I spent many an hour in Mom's kitchen listening to his stories: Long distance trips in his delivery truck and the characters he'd met, recipes he was trying, animals he'd adopted. 'Look', he'd say to us little kids, 'see my baby raccoon? Just scooch down behind the stove, see his shining eyes?' In 1972, Uncle Dan taught me how to properly make a tossed salad. Every step thoroughly explained. I still do it that way today. And think of him every time. He brought sunshine to our lives. We'll miss him.

One of my happiest memories are of Uncle Dan sitting around the fire one summer night talking to all the families children .I think there was 5 kids with him that night and every time the fire crackled he had convinced the kids that the fire was talking to them . They were asking him all sorts of questions about the fires life . I stood in the background and watched in fascination as these kids hung on his every word .Raising my children always involved Uncle Dan and he taught us so many things .We had such wonderful times watching movies in the old garage, fishing and playing with the boats on the lake and playing cards on hot summer nights.Lots of laughter and they always wanted family around .We were truly blessed he called us family .Uncle Dan will live in our hearts forever !
