Obituary of Frieda Smith Froio

Frieda Jennie Koennecke Smith Froio went home to be with the Lord on March 28, 2012, at Hebrew SeniorLife in Boston, Mass. Born February 12, 1933, Frieda was the daughter of Walter and Hazel Koennecke of Ridge Road. A longtime member of the community, Frieda was an active member of the DAR, 4-H Club and the 4th of July Committee. She attended Cazenovia High School and was a graduate of the Contemporary School of Beauty in Syracuse, New York. Frieda enjoyed running her beauty salon, gardening, sewing and doing crafts. She was the widow of Walter W. Smith, former Chief of Police of Cazenovia, and Joseph Froio of Syracuse, New York. She took great joy in her family and is survived by 5 daughters, Roselinda, Sandra, Suellen, Annemarie and Lorelei; one son, Daniel; 7 siblings, Ellen, Albert, Frederick, Luise, Olinda, Walter and Joanne; 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Calling hours will be 10 am to 12 pm Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at the Tait Funeral Home, 2333 Fenner Road, Cazenovia, New York; Funeral Service immediately following. The Burial will be private.
