I stumbled upon this and could not continue without adding my thoughts. Having been a former member of CCC, I had the opportunity to play many rounds of golf with Ed while participating in the men’s twilight league. I wanted to let his family know that I greatly enjoyed his company, and shall forever remember him with his big, inviting smile and carefree attitude. It is a tremendous pleasure to have known him. Godspeed Ed - please save us all a seat.

Beverly, I just saw the notice of Ed's passing in the University of Dayton Magazine. As you know, we were good friends at UD and beyond. I appreciated his updates in Christmas cards. Beverly I just found out about Ed's passing. Nancy and I are so deeply sorry to hear about Ed. I can't tell you how much of a good time Ed and I had traveling when we worked at Alion, and of course all of the Manhattans we would relax with in the evenings when we were traveling. He was a brilliant man and in my eyes contributed so much to what ever he was doing and will be surly missed. I will always cherish the many things he made for me and especially the blasting cabinet which I still use today.

Beverly and Family, I just learned of your loss and wanted to let you know that you are in my family's thoughts and prayers. Ed was a great mentor to me and many others at Alion. He was a dedicated and intelligent engineer. Even more important he was a kind and thoughtful man. Sincere sympathy to the Sherwin family for your loss. My friend for 30 years we spent time together golfing, coaching and chatting about all the important things, solving the problems in world. I shall cherish these memories.He is in heaven refinishing a wooden treasure. RIP Ed.
