Obituary of Penny L. Haagensen

Penny Lee Haagensen, 70, of Erieville, passed away Tuesday morning at Bethesda Hospital East in Boynton Beach, Florida. She was born on Long Island, a daughter to the late, Robert and Muriel Haagensen and was a school teacher with the Madison Central School District from 1973 until her retirement in 2002. Penny graduated from Long Island University, attended Syracuse University and finished her Master’s degree from Colgate University in 1976. She loved working on her farm, keeping it in pristine condition; was a gourmet cook and enjoyed collecting cook books. She was a member of the Tea Party of CNY and the New York Corvette Club. She is survived by a brother, Craig Haagensen; aunt and uncles, Donald and Helen Fieser, and Dorothy and Daniel McCarthy; and by a dear friend, Scott Ward. There are no calling hours. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, April 29, 2016 at Evergreen Cemetery, Cazenovia.
