Daniel H. Knopp, Jr., 47, of Fulton passed away Thursday, September 8, 2016. He was born in Oswego and recently celebrated his 30th year of employment with Fulton TV and Appliance. Dan served four years as Alderman of Fulton’s 2nd Ward and was president of the Common Council instrumental in creating the Lake Neatahwanta Revitalization Project. He was passionate about improving his community, participating and leading various events and organizations. Most notably, Dan volunteered as a coach for Fulton Youth Soccer, bell ringer for the Salvation Army and the Fulton May Day cleanup. He was a former member of the First Congregational Church of Phoenix and Pathfinder Rod & Gun Club.
Dan enjoyed many outdoor activities especially hunting, fishing and camping. His joy was spending time with his family and yearly vacations in Maine.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Juliann (Bracco) Knopp; daughters, Kerriann, Chelsie and Jordan Knopp; a son, Ryan Knopp; his mother and step-father, Ruth and Gary Castano of Fulton; a brother, David Knopp and partner, Rose Stone of Hastings; a sister, Denise (Knopp) Enright and brother-in-law, Bruce; a niece, Madeline and nephew, Cole Enright all of North Syracuse as well as various aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at the Fulton Alliance Church, 1044 State Route 48, Fulton. A private service will be held following the calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to his family when a benefit will be planned in October. This event will be announced at a later date.
