Katharine “Kiki” Miner, 90, of Pompey, New York passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 6, 2017.
Kiki was born in Manlius, New York on November 26, 1926, the youngest of five children born to William and Katharine Judge. She graduated from Manlius High School in 1944 and worked at the Manlius Cinema where she met her future husband, Robert “Grump” Miner. They were married in 1944 before Grump went to the Pacific Theatre in World War II. They raised their family in the Manlius-Fayetteville area before moving to Pompey. Kiki was a member of the Manlius Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary; a member of the Circle M riding club and co-owned Case’s Inn (Grump’s Dump) in Pompey with her husband, Grump. Kiki enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and will be missed by all.
In addition to her parents, Kiki was predeceased by her husband of nearly 50 years, Robert “Grump” Miner; her four siblings, Lee Judge, Clyde “Polly” Judge, Gordon Judge and Lois Bottrill.
She is survived by her four children, Linda (Bob) Watson, Stanley “Stub” (Terry) Miner, Bill (Nancy) Miner and Peggy (Scott) Mawson; her nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Kiki was an aunt and great aunt to several nieces and nephews in the Central New York area and around the United States; and a friend to many.
Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m., Thursday, May 11, 2017 in the Pompey Community Church, 2555 Berwyn Rd., Lafayette, NY. The family will receive friends Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the church prior to the service. Burial will be private. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Miner may be made to the Pompey Hill Fire Department, P.O. Box 268, Pompey, NY 13138 or to Hospice of Central New York, 990 Seventh North St., Liverpool, NY 13088.
