Echoing expressions and remembrances expressed by my sister Patty (Page) Levesque. The Druke family have a long time connection with ours with many fond memories.
In John's honor I wish to share this piece ~
Author: Unknown
God's Garden: God looked around his garden, And He found an empty place. And then He looked down upon the earth, And saw your tired face. He put His arms around you, And lifted you to rest. God's garden must be beautiful, He always takes the best. He knew that you were suffering, He knew you were in pain. He knew that you would never get well upon this earth again. He saw the road was getting rough, And the hills were hard to climb, So He closed your weary eyelids, And whispered "Peace be thine". It broke our hearts to lose you. But you didn't go alone, for part of us went with you, The day God called you home.
Thank you for your service to our Country!
God's blessings and until we meet again!

Dear Mrs. Druke, Jack, Carmen, Sue, Lisa, JoAnne and families,
While I have so many memories of growing up in Kirkville, what comes to mind first when I think about the time spent in your home and at White Lake is the sound of music. With the radio playing in the background, I can picture Mr. Druke sitting in a chair, one leg crossed over the other, with his foot softly moving to the rhythm of the music. Occasionally treated to an impromptu performance, his playing appeared effortless and at times to be composed on the spot. These memories coupled with his gentle nature and welcoming smile will always be what come to mind when I think of Mr. Druke.
Thinking of all of you and feeling grateful for these memories of time spent with your family while growing up in Kirkville.

Though I did not know John as well as some of the Druke siblings, I wish to add my condolences for the family. John certainly had a lifetime of experiences and accomplishments and surely will be missed by his family, but many happy memories to keep close at heart. My grandfather Porter Thayer, lived near the Druke family in Williamsville, VT, so it was always fun to visit the Druke family, especially at Christmas time. In more recent years my brother Ed Page, in nearby Hamilton, NY, has had wonderful visits with John and Martha.
May he rest in peace -- well done.
With sympathy, Patty (Page) Levesque, York, Maine

Dearest Aunt Martha, cousins family and friends: I am so sorry for the loss of dear Uncle John. He was a beautiful and loving person and such fun at our many gatherings! My father's favorite prayer was that of St Francis and favorite song, "I will raise you up on the last day".
Know I am praying for you and all family members.
Much love to you and all, Denise Thabault

Martha,
I am not sure who else will read this, but John was clearly the best president of our local NYFOA chapter, and the one who nominated me for treasurer, a position I have held and enjoyed since 2004. Heaven means different things to different people, but I hope John's is full of 30 inch dbh hard maple, cherry, maybe some oak, but not too much beech, and a Belaurus tractor that runs.

Dear Aunt Martha and All Druke Cousins and your families. Prayers to you all and sympathy on the passing of Uncle John.
Uncle John was a gentleman and always had a kind word. I tip my hat to all family caregivers, it is an underestimated job and more so when it is for someone you love. Remember the many wonderful memories you had and please stay safe and healthy.

Dear Martha,
I want to express my deepest sympathy in the passing of John.
I have to tell you how sorry I am, and that I am praying for you and your family.
As I continue to grieve the loss of my dear Marge, who passed away in February, I do also find the strength to grieve for my dear friend John. We shared so many good times together in the early years of the CNY chapter of NYFOA, the Family Forest Fair, the many woods walks, seminars at the Farm Show and a lot of other events.
John was involved in so many NYFOA meetings and presentations. He was always reaching out and welcoming members and guests.
I do want to tell you that my strong faith in God is the major reason that I can cope with my own feelings of loss and grief. It sometimes is very difficult to understand how these circumstances can be part of God's plan, but we must rely on our faith that everything does fit into His plan. I pray that your faith will carry you and your family through the months ahead.
I also pray for John's soul as he enters into God's heavenly kingdom of eternal peace and glory.
God bless,
Bob Sykes

Dear Martha. I was so sorry to hear of John's passing. Although I did not know John very well, I know that he and Larry were great friends at St Michael's College. I remember Larry telling about the things they used to do and the fun they had.
Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you. Take care and be well. Jeannette

Dear Aunt Martha and Druke Family,
My heart is with you. Uncle John (affectionately titled because he and Aunt Martha babysat me growing up) will be remembered by me as the Uncle that taught me how to properly jump on a bed, actually hit a baseball, and climb a pine tree. He recorded my violin progress every time I came to visit, and always had some new recording device we could try out. I remember the house on Kirkville Road as one of my favorite places to spend time. I loved petting Alfie and Molly, listening to folk music and smelling the wood stove. Uncle John treated me like family and I will never forget his kindness.
Sending you all love,
Natalie and the Coots family

My Dear Martha, and family let me express our sincere condolences of John’s passing. I alway felt it as an honor and privilege that our paths crossed and I was able to give you a short respite when I took John out. On our walks in the woods by the water stream in all the different seasons he would always stop and listen for the birds. We would rest on a bench and there was a fir tree which we put a Christmas ornament on and would look for each time we made the journey . McDonalds for a hamburger and coffee ,dinner 1 night at our house with Jim and when you took me to Kirbys so many powerful memories. May He Rest In Peace . Thank you for the gift of knowing John and your family Ann and Jim Gensler
