Dear extended family and friends,
I'm deeply saddened by the news of Trudy's passing.
Trudy was a dear friend to me and an important part of my life.
About 30 years ago she volunteered to help new immigrants learning English. My dear Grandma connected with Trudy and when Trudy heard I'm arriving in the states, she immediately offered to work with me too. Trudy not only got me to join an English class taught by her neighbor, she even helped edit my papers- and that was hard work because my English was bad. Trudy was a friend, teacher and also a matchmaker, during one of our meetings she introduced me to my future loving husband.
Three girls later Trudy and Walt's home in Pompey Hollow became my recharge place. Whenever I came over, Trudy and I talked for a long time, sometimes took a walk, sat in the garden, picked apples. I remember Trudy spoke so proudly of her successful kids and grandchildren, and used to roll her eyes smiling when Walt told his funny jokes. Trudy always made me feel important, loved, and appreciated, a great woman to know when you are a long way away from your family. Whenever I would have family members visit from back home I would bring them to meet Trudy and Walt.
I am guilty of letting life take over and not visiting enough in the past few years. I admire Walt for keeping in positive spirits and taking care of Trudy. On my last visit in October, I got to see Trudy looking good and happy sitting in her chair. Walt and I told Trudy and her caregiver the story of our life long friendship. I got to hold Trudy’s hand and tell her how proud she should be of me for receiving a Master's degree that fall. It all started with her believing in me. She was my teacher, friend, matchmaker, and Angel.
Our deepest sympathies to Walt and family,
Michal, Eric, Shellie Danielle and Maytal Downie

My sincere condolences to Walt and the entire Moore family. I remember first meeting Trudy in 1981 in Burnt Hills when Lynn and I were in graduate school together. Amidst an active household (including Stevie walking through rooms on his hands), Trudy was the warm heart center. I loved talking with Trudy. She was always hospitable and interested in other people, unflappable when others might come unglued. Trudy was a resilient and loving lady, and a great gift to all of us who were lucky enough to know her. I hope every member of the Moore family takes comfort from memories of her long and love-filled life.

My deep condolences to the Moore family.
I'm grateful that had the pleasure of meeting Trudy once in Portland, Oregon. With just that one meeting, I felt touched by her graciousness, warmth and positive energy.

My condolences to the Moore family. Upon hearing of the passing of Trudy, a flood of happy memories came to me. Growing up across the street from the Moore clan in Hamilton (early years) and later, supper club camping at Green Lakes. Our parents were great examples of how friendship could evolve yet endure over time. I miss all of you and again, I'm sorry for your loss.

To the whole Moore family,
I was saddened to hear of the loss of Trudy. She was a great kind person.
I still hear her friendly voice echoing in my head as I spent many great years down in the Forest Road basement playing ping-pong or in Cazenovia picking or flinging apples.
Wonder did not win the ping-pong matches (or tennis) on skill alone...he had the advantage of his athletic mother and the tutelage of her racket skills.
Always had a kind word to say or a smile to pass on.
Will live on in my memories forever.

I was so lucky to call Trudy my Grandma. Going raspberry picking, ice skating and learning to make whipped are some of my greatest memories.

To the Moore's family,
Genet and I are deeply saddened by the loss that you and your entire family have encountered. I had a pleasure of meeting Trudy for the first time in the 1981 when she was distributing apples, with a big smile in her face, for the whole Cortland soccer team. I did not know who she was during that time. I still remember her saying that “I am welcome to visit Cazenovia for more apples” and added “come with Steve.” Since that day, I visited Cazenovia many times and I was always welcomed with an open arm. I cherished all the moments going to the family tennis court and Trudy trying to teaching me the eye hand (racket) coordination and I failed her miserably. Such moments taught me how passionate she was with the sport of tennis and sports in general. During all my visits to Cazenovia, Trudy was always warm and have a welcoming personality. She was a gracious host and a remarkable woman. Above all a great human being. Trudy will be missed.
We extend our deepest sympathies to the Moore’s family. Our most sincere condolences.
Sincerely,
Genet and Halefom

We are losing the greatest generation, and Trudy was certainly one of them. As we grew up in Hamilton, then visited Burnt Hills, camped at Green Lakes, and tried to keep up with the Moore tennis game, she was always in great spirits and it rubbed off on all of us. We will miss her. She passed just 10 days after I lost my father, so we can relive the best memories together.
All our best,
Wayne

Dear Dad
Thanks so much for all the tremendous care you gave to Mom these past years. She was a wonderful wife and mother. She taught me to ski, skate and play tennis. My only regret was losing a tennis match to Mom and her sister Hella on the farm court. I look forward to the rematch!

Hey Dad. I have been so unbelievably lucky to have half of your genes and half of mom’s. A great combination in all six cases. You have made an amazing family with mom and we all know how much she loved us all. Thanks for letting her copy your math paper. Barclay

Dear Moore Family,
I have so many fonds memories of Trudy. She was an awesome PE mentor for so many of us. When I was student teaching in Burnt Hills, Trudy and Walt made dinner for me many times in Burnt Hills and made me feel like I was home. Every time I would visit or go by the Apple farm in Cazenovia, Trudy was playing tennis. Man she loved that game. I loved chatting with her and just her presence. She will he missed by all but she lived a good life. Love to everyone. ♥️
