Shelly and girls, I am very sorry to hear about the passing of Dave. I have fond memories of him from my years teaching at Fabius Pompey Schools. I am honored and grateful for having been part of his life. He shared his smile, sense of humor and his enjoyment of life in general. He will be missed, however he will remain in our hearts forever. Shelly, Kim, Stephanie, and Sam and all of your extended families, please know that I've had Dave in my thoughts and prayers this last year while he battled this illness. I cannot begin to tell you how special it was to me to spend so much time with you all when you were growing up--all the babysitting, BBQs, Memorial Days, riding bikes down backstreet to your house, softball games, times putting in the DeRuyter swimming docs, Shelly's sun tea on the deck, the hugs just seeing you all in town, and watching you all grow up under the great parenting of your mom and dad. David always had a smile for the world, and a ready hand to help anyone. I know he was your biggest cheerleader, and you could always see how proud he was of each of your accomplishments through the years. I am sure his example will be a great influence for your families, and he will be there with you in spirit for every new adventure.
Love to all,
John and Amy (Skinner) Spring

To the family. I recently heard of Mr. Fisher's passing. I met Dave while he was doing repair work on the church manse in Preble several years ago.We connected right away and shared our life experiences. We were the same age and had both served our wonderful country. He told me more than once how he loved his family and our country. My sincere sympathy at this time. May God continue to bless you all. Respectfully, Wayne Swindon Homer NY

David was one of the first persons that I met when Jan and I moved out here in 1975. He was roofing a house I was working on. We soon discovered we had a shared experience ....... Vietnam.
You will be missed. My and Jan’s prayers are for you and your family.

To the Shelly and the girls, We had the joy of having Dave as our neighbor for over 20 years. Whenever we needed help he was right there. We knew when we were away our house was safe. OUr fun times dealing with our fox neighbors. Building a table from scratch, Lawn mowing competetion, of course we were always 1 or 2 behind Dave. Our talks in the back yard. His ever smiling face. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. I hope your loving memories will help you through this tough time. He will be greatly missed. Anne and Dave Wormuth

Shelly and Family,
I am so sad to hear this. He was a very kind and funny man. I remember the day he had to move my car in his driveway and I was on empty. He never let me live that down. We laughed every time we saw each other. He will be truly missed by many. Prayer to the entire family.
