Please accept my sincere condolence for your loss. Bill and I were roommates for two years at South Kent School. After graduation, we went our separate ways and did not meet again until our Class(1952) had its 50th reunion 2002. He was a good person and I was blessed to have known him even so briefly. May he rest in peace with fair winds and following seas.

I have so many fond memories of growing up with the Diefs. Bill was always there, generous and kind, sometimes serious, often funny, always fun, a person of many parts. Rest in peace old friend. Jonathan Holstein

My thoughts and prayers are with you Bonnie, and family. I am so sorry for this great loss. Our family and many others certainly will miss Bill in so many ways. We have so many great memories of his kindness, humor, talents, skills, always willing to help anyone, and the list could go on. Bill will be missed by so many, but we know he is in the arms of our Lord in which he deeply believed and we will see him again someday.

Mr. D was dearly loved and will be sorely missed by all who knew him! His kindness to people and animals was boundless; he touched the lives of so many of us in a positive way. Always at the ready with a quip and a smile, along with words of encouragement to any who needed them. He opened his heart, and frequently his home, to those who were in need. There are are no words adequate to express my gratitude to him (and his family) and my great sorrow at his passing. The world was a better place with him in it!! I picture him sailing off into the sunset, martini in hand, a smile upon his lips and laughter in his eyes.

I met Bill at an agency where I worked and was immediately impressed by his pluck and his droll sense of humor. Later I loved hearing him read the Lessons at Saviour. Bill touched my heart and those of many others.

Glenn said the smell of a pipe always brings Bill to mind. Good music and boat rides and helping to take down trees at Ridge Rd were other memories he shared. He is sending his love to you all.

Willis Diefendorf is part of several very specific memories, for me. He had a large, but kind personality. He stepped into his many interests with gusto and attention to detail. Mr. D. exemplified grace, curiosity, humor and strength. I'm lucky to have known him!

I met Willis at Diefendorf Gear in the late 1970's as a computer programmer and was always delighted to talk business with him and his brother Art, who supported me as I struck out on my own for eight years. Sorry to have missed him since relocating in 1989 to Philly area. He was a great friend to me.
