Roderick L. “Rodney” Cook, Jr., 53, of Eaton, passed away at home on Friday, January 8, 2021. He was born October 10, 1967 in Hamilton, New York to Roderick L. and Nelda M. Cook and was a graduate of Cazenovia High School in 1986. Rodney earned the rank of Eagle Scout with Boy Scout Troop 107 of Perryville. He had been employed as a woodworker at Stickley before changing careers to become an over the road truck driver working for J.B. Hunt and Swift Transportation. Rodney was a former member of the Chittenango Fire Department and enjoyed hunting and carpentry.
He is survived by his son, Jeremy Cook; his parents, Roderick L. and Nelda M. Cook, Sr.; three sisters, Michelle (Ken Woodworth) Cook, Hope (Jody Kirk) Cook and Charlene (Bill) Bellinger; one niece; four nephews; several aunts and uncles; and by his good friend, Kevin Clement.
Funeral services will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Cazenovia. Contributions in Rodney’s memory may be made to Wanderers’ Rest Humane Association, P.O.
