Raymond “Ray” Kent, 69, of West Monroe, passed away unexpectedly Friday, June 4, 2021. He was born on Christmas Eve in 1951 in Syracuse to Raymond and Helen Kent. Ray had been employed as a truck driver for several years and was recently employed as an RV Service Technician with Wilkins RV in Brewerton. He enjoyed going to drag races, demolition derbies, classic cars and attending the Syracuse Nationals. Ray was a member of the Kruising Knights Car club where he would show his 1965 Ford Custom Cab truck. He also enjoyed camping, fishing and collecting guns.
Ray is survived by his daughters, Heather (David Bohli) Kent of Camillus and Katie (Kyle) McManus of Syracuse; one granddaughter, Riley Janene McManus and his life partner, Carol Olszewski of West Monroe. In addition to his parents, Ray was predeceased by his wife, Janene Howell Kent and by his son, Michael F. Kent.
Memorial services will be held at 5 p.m., Monday, June 14, 2021 at Michael E. Brown Funeral Services, 2333 Fenner Rd., Cazenovia. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 3 to 5 p.m. prior to the service.
