Obituary of John F. Hess

John F. Hess, 78, of Cazenovia, passed away at home Sunday, March 20, 2022 with his wife Mary by his side. John was born June 24, 1943 in Syracuse to John F. and Mary J. Allen Hess and attended Cazenovia High School. He was employed in the Maintenance Department at Cazenovia College and retired from the Town of Cazenovia Highway Department after several years of service. John was proud to be a 50-year member of the Cazenovia Fire Department. John enjoyed his daily ride around Cazenovia visiting with his friends, riding on his lawn tractor and he took great pride in maintaining his home. He enjoyed salmon fishing at camp in Pulaski with his close friend, Rick DeKing. John is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary; his sisters-in-law, Pat Haynes and Jane Hotchkiss; his brother-in-law, Paul (Jenifer) Hotchkiss; his niece, Kelly (Chris) Dahlem as well as other nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Thomas (Sheila) Hess and by his brothers-in-law, Frank Haynes and John Hotchkiss. Funeral services will be private.
