Dear Liz & family,
Russ was a unique individual, so patient, so helpful, so kind, and so very funny. No matter the complexity or time sensitivity of an order, he would always come through in getting the job done. It was great to work with him, but it was always a pleasure just to pop in to say hi when passing by, even when I had no order. He had such a great sense of humor for any subject. I can’t count the number of times he made me laugh.
I was so saddened to hear of his loss and my condolences go out to the entire family. This is a tremendous loss for his loved ones, but just know it is a loss to anyone who ever met him. He was a great guy and a great human being.

Russ was a wonderful man! I enjoyed going to the Copy Center at SUNY-Cortland because of Russ. He was so kind and always made room for my last minute copying needs. Things were / are not the same without him there. I'll miss Russ a lot - his kindness, and positive outlook. My condolences to Russ' family. He will always hold a place in my heart. Thank you, Russ.

Russell was a true example of kindness, spirit of joy and service. I always enjoyed going to the copying center, because there I knew Russell would be ready with a kind word, a smile that was radiant, and a touch of laughter, that would make the day seem better, no matter what was happening. I did not get to see him much his last years due to COVID and I was sadden to see he was no longer there when life started to get a little more normal on campus. Thank you family for sharing your photos and great memories. I will have you all in my thoughts and prayers. Thank you for allowing him to be part of the SUNY Cortland family, he will be remembered with great fondness. I wish your time of sadness be wrapped with lots of happy and loving memories. Chris Widdall, SUNY Cortland Friend.

I am truly sorry to hear the loss of your family's loss of Russell Scott. I'll never forget the kind voice on the other end of the phone at SUNY Cortland. He was a very knowledgeable man who knew what to do to save money for an office/department or how to answer your questions.
Very sorry to hear he is gone and shall be missed at SUNY Cortland.

Russell always could make us laugh whenever we needed cheering up! We loved hearing about all his research he would do in his free time, and we loved Superbowl Time with the whole gang! He was a Father figure and a big brother to the community around him. No one felt completely at home until they met Russell! We love you Russell forever!!!
