Obituary of Emmett Ernest Bailey

Emmett Ernest Bailey, 81, of Delphi Falls, a hamlet of Pompey NY, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2023 at home. Emmett was born in Syracuse on May 6, 1942 to Nelson and Alice Bailey. Emmett worked many different jobs which included owning an excavation business. Emmett also served in the U.S. Air Force as a mechanic and was honorably discharged due to an injury he incurred during his service, Emmett was a well-known man in and around Delphi Falls where he resided for most of his adult life. He dedicated many years of his life caring for the Delphi Falls Cemetery. Emmett is survived by his four children, Kelly Curto of Raleigh, North Carolina, Nelson (Deann) Bailey of DeRuyter, Karen Mulligan of Kirkville and Milton (Helen) Bailey of Pompey; his grandchildren, Erica, Nichole, Steven, Allen, Angelica, Katie and Meghan as well as several great-grandchildren and many friends. Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., Wednesday, October 25, 2023 with services to follow at Michael E. Brown Funeral Services, 2333 Fenner Road in Cazenovia. A reception will follow at the Delphi Falls Fire Department, 2260 Oran Delphi Road, Delphi Falls, NY. Burial will be in Delphi Falls Cemetery at a later date.
