Obituary of Dr. Robert Toole

         Dr. Robert J. Toole of Cazenovia, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday morning at home to be with our Lord in Heaven. Dr. Toole grew up in the Cazenovia area and graduated from Cazenovia High School. He later graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Science degree, Virginia Tech with a Master’s degree in Animal Science and his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Cornell University. Dr. Toole was a well-known and respected veterinarian throughout Central New York for his expertise in dairy reproduction and was licensed to practice in New York, Pennsylvania and Florida. He held his private practice since 1989, specializing in large animal veterinary medicine, herd health, bovine reproduction, embryo transfer, genetics and he was also a veterinary consultant for Animal Medic. Dr. Toole had a lifelong passion for dairy farming and owned the dairy farm he grew up on, Longview Ridge Farm.

         Dr. Toole’s affiliations included the American Embryo Transfer Association, the American Veterinary Medical Association, NY State Veterinary Medical Society and the American Bovine Practitioners Association. He was a member of the Tuscarora Lake Association and Eastern Hills Bible Church.

          Dr. Toole enjoyed all sports with a love for the New York Yankees. He often found joy in landscaping projects at his residence and at the lake house on Tuscarora Lake where he shared many great memories with loved ones. He also cherished the time spent with his family and friends who were the center of his life. He was a faithful Christian who set out each day to live a godly life and to better the lives of others. He was admired for his kind heart, hard work, and compassion for all those around him.

         Dr. Toole is survived by his wife of 36 years, Karol M. Toole; his son, Thomas Toole; three brothers, David Toole, James Toole, and John Toole; his loving in-laws, nephews and niece. He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Mary Toole and by his son, Andrew T. Toole.

         A memorial service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Monday, March 5, 2018 followed by a time for family and friends to gather at Eastern Hills Bible Church, 8277 Cazenovia Road, Manlius. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Dr. Toole may be made to Eastern Hills Bible Church, 4600 Enders Road, Manlius, NY 13104.
