James, Jennifer, and Tom, I'm so sorry I lost contact with your mother over the years. (I am her cousin, 10 years older than she) However I was fortunate to meet you three (or two of you three?) in Colorado in 2006. Betsy visited my wife and me in Syracuse about 1976. I remember Betsy most vividly a year after she was born, when her family stayed with my family in Penn Valley PA. What blonde hair! I wish I had seen or talked to Betsy more recently. It is a great loss to all of us. As her children, please accept my condolences and those of my wife, Sue. John & Sue

I remember Betsy when she was a member at the Center for Lifetime Wellness where I was a wellness coach there. I could always count on her warm smile, jovial laugh and warm personality. She will be dearly missed. My condolences to her family.

To the McGee family, my thoughts and prayers are with you as we remember a wonderful woman. Betsy and I were the co-chairs of the Community Knitting table at the Rochester Knitting Guild. She had great ideas on how and what to knit for the Community. She will be greatly missed.

Jim, Jennifer and Thomas: I'd like to give you my heart-felt condolences at the loss of your mom...my friend of many years. She and I got to know each other very well at a very difficult period in each of our lives. Although we hadn't see each other in several years, I wanted to let you all know how much I valued that friendship. She was a unique person in many ways. I wish you peace. Marsha Hallock

I worked with Betsy for many years. She was a strong/outspoken advocate for her clients and for things she believed in. I lost contact with her after she retired, with the exception of the times I would run into her at Riki's Restaurant in Fairport. Betsy had a wonderful smile and great sense of humor. She loved talking about her children, and then they took a backseat after she had grandchildren. Betsy was older than me but she never acted old. One of my favorite memories of her took place on Thursday April 6, 1995. I was going on child leave the next day as my son, who we were adopting from Korea, was arriving on Saturday the 8th. I decided to get a tattoo to commemorate the occasion and I casually announced this to my co-workers that afternoon. Much to my surprise, 3 people spontaneously joined me at the tattoo parlor that day - - - one of them was Betsy! The 4 of us enjoyed a couple of stiff drinks before our adventure. True to her heritage, Betsy got a shamrock on her ankle.

I will miss Betsy an awful lot. Together, we shared many laughs, dinner at Riki's on Tuesdays before rehearsals, Indian cuisine at various restaurants, and going to my granddaughter's high school musicals. Our community was definitely made better by Betsy being amongst us.

I worked with Betsy at Finger Lakes Developmental Services. She was a dedicated service coordinator and a kind and competent woman. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a beautiful smile. My deepest sympathy to her family.

It was my pleasure to volunteer with Betsy for many years at Advent House. She was just as her picture. Always smiling, and devoted to others. She was an expert knitter and showed me how to knit the toe of sox - no seams! She will be missed by so many that benefited from her caring, and by those of us who enjoyed her cheerful smile and friendship. Please accept my sincere sympathy.

Betsy, or as I called her "McGoo", was a co-worker of mine for many years. I met her in 1993. Beyond being a co-worker in different situations over the years, she was a loyal friend. I was told by our common supervisor, who had said something negative about me to Betsy, that Betsy was not happy with the negative comment. She described Betsy as one of my strongest advocates. When we would have multiple enjoyable conversations, she always got a kick out of the fact that her son Jimmy was 9 months older than me. A great sense of humor, sharp wit, wonderful spirit and a lady i was blessed to have known.
